The sweetest, stickiest, syrup job is the song that never ends. It just goes on, and on, and on.Well the IMSTEPF crew just started singing it.. and shooting it ..yikes, what an endeavor --of such a single, simple liquid sugar.
WE cannot count the ways this caramel looking viscous liquid looks in motion, let alone in still. Instant love affair describes the obsession with liquid shooting. Viscous and thick is lusciousness to the eyes.
The RED proved to be a consistent companion along the yellow brick road of joy and discovery. Herr Imstepf himself, had 7 helpers on set, pouring, cleaning, sticking, sliding, gaffing, grooming, prepping... Amanda, Mai, Lesley, Evan, Nate, Deb, and Shiva too. Loads of fun lots of work.

We discovered in the dailies later that the syrup doubled oil as well. So we pulled out some pretty gears we had in the workshop. We shined em up on put them on set with the syrup. We tried holding it with hands, arms, rolling, dropping.. and just captured image and observed. Then we'd repeat the process.
We felt that shooting syrup pours evolved into a different kind of visual party plan than the initial pancake or waffle of luscious pouring action. So we started playing with the idea of oil as well. We'd figure it out later on this one. Not the usual method and approach. But we wanted to shoot,, and had everything lined up.. so we gave ourselves permission to explore without a decisive plan, except to shoot, explore, look and conclude. Write the story as we experience it.
